Dear runners and supporters,
It’s with a heavy heart I must apologize for having to cancel the inaugural Kissimmee Stampede April 1 for Race to Create Jobs. Due to economic difficulties, I’ve had to postpone the race but not the mission. I’m working hard still, focused on helping people find jobs.
To the runners, refunds will be forthcoming soon. I hope you’ll keep checking the website for updates on events I’ll be attending and a new race.
To my sponsors, I sincerely thank you for believing in my mission and our community. I hope you’ll still stand behind me as I move forward with getting the word out about job openings and mentoring others on bringing their best potential to the workforce.
As for the future of the Race to Create Jobs organization, I have so many ideas I plan to implement in the coming year, starting with running a booth at the St. Cloud Life event at the St. Cloud Civic Center this Saturday.
Additionally, I’m moving forward to plans to apply for my 501C3 non-profit designation, considering working with senior high school students and single parents on getting into or back into the workforce and building toward a race next year.
To those of you who were signed up for the race, consider switching to the Shingle Creek Adventure Challenge April 22 in Kissimmee. It’s a fun run, row and bike for teams of two or four covering 19 miles. Visitwww.shinglecreekadventurechallenge.com.
Once again, I thank you for your support and understanding during this time and I hope we can get together soon at another event.
Remember: The finish line is just the beginning.
Sincerely,
Janet Sterling
